6 / 21 / 15 Jorge Mateo vs. Billy Hamilton (Game 62)

I know it has been a while since we have done a post in this series. The Riverdogs played their last game before the South Atlantic League All Star game so I figured this would be a good place to pick it back up. So these are the fact. Jorge Mateo has played in 62 games in Charleston and through those games he has racked up 50 stolen bases (not to shabby). Remember we are not comparing Billy Hamilton today vs. Mateo we are taking the 2011 numbers of Billy Hamilton. Why? Because that was Billy's age 20 season which Mateo is currently playing in. Also Billy was still playing the middle infield at that time as well. So here is how they stack up

Through Game 62

Jorge Mateo               50 Stolen Bases
Billy Hamilton             52 Stolen Bases

By seasons end Billy Hamilton played in 135 games and ended with 103 stolen bases.

Through Game 135

Billy Hamilton               103 Stolen Bases
Jorge Mateo                 108 Stolen Bases*

*108 is the on pace number for Jorge.

As I had mentioned Jorge & the Riverdogs are currently taking 3 days off for the All Star game so this gives Mateo some time to rest his legs. Hopefully to set fire to the base paths again.
