Welcome to the first installment of my YankeesMiLB Prospect team. This is just a fun exercise for me to share with my readers. What I have tried to do is create a team with top performing prospects with some personal favorites for the time period I am covering. This is by no means a TOP PROPSECT TEAM. You may notice some glaring ommisions if it was such a list. Guys like Domingo German, Ian Clarkin, Luis Torrens, Dermis Garcia, Jose Pirela & Bryan Mitchell have been left off this list for various reasons.
- Domingo German & Luis Torrens (season ending injury)
- Ian Clarkin (no play time due to injury)
- Dermis Garcia (lack of in season play)
- Jose Pirela & Bryan Mitchell (previous big league appearances)
My selections include only players with extended play time in the month of April. If a player did not have a significant amount of at bats or innings pitched they were not considered. So this would leave off players with injuries, lack of play time, or players scheduled to play for the lower levels. As to those that have been selected I did so because they were top performers at their positions/level (AARON JUDGE). Some are top prospects that have a track record to carry them on projections (GREG BIRD) . Other are personal favorites that helped fill needs (FRANCISCO ARCIA) while some are pleasant early season surprises (LUIS CEDENO). Remember this is just an exercise for me. It is for fun. This is my know means a future NEW YORK YANKEES line up or team. I hope you enjoy browsing over the names and hope you can give some input on your thoughts. Maybe you can send me your own list or even maybe send me an argument on who was left off and who they should replace.
