Instructional League Roster

It is that time again of the year again. The MiLB season is over. Many of the guys are back home taking time off. While others took a short break to get back to it down in Tampa. The Florida Instructional League is in no way a BIG EVENT. For most of the guys it is a chance to get some extra work in with Yankees staff before they head to other areas for some fall or winter ball. The rosters are not posted via major media outlets. I did manage to get the break down of the roster via Pinstripes Plus a subscription is required to view. I will however will give you guys a look at the roster as it is currently. 22 Pitchers, 5 Catchers, 13 Infields, 9 Outfielders is how it all shakes out. Some of the position players can be used in other spots on the field but are listed at what will be their primary spot of the brief time. The big 3 of Sanchez, Williams and Austin, who all finished the season with the Eastern League Champion Trenton Thunder, will all be on hand. Other top 20 names that will be there include De Paula, Jagielo, Clarkin, Bichette Jr., Mitchell and Gumbs. This will also mark the introduction of Leonardo Molina. Molina the recently signed 16 year old out of the Dominican Republic. The 7 players that will represent the New York Yankees at the Arizona Fall League and play for the Scottsdale Scorpions will all be there as well. The previously mentioned Tyler Austin & Mason Williams headline the group that includes Fred Lewis, James Pazos, Peter O'Brien and Vidal Nuno.

There is some question as to why Aaron Judge is not on roster. Injury might play a part in this but there is this

so the situation with Judge is still up in the air. Should have it all sorted out by Friday or over the weekend.

Even with out Judge on the squad there are plenty of nice names around the field. Maybe yours truly will find a way to get down there and see some action. Be it on the field or just friendly chats with the guys.
