This time last year Tyler Austin was playing for the Charleston RiverDogs. (NYY Single A affiliate) He was the Yankees selection for the Futures Game. A mid season promotion to the Tampa Yankees (NYY Advanced Single A affiliate) on July 3, 2012. This game changed his Futures Game fate. He was hit in the head in the 5th inning by a Dunedin pitcher. Which sidelined Tyler for an extended period of time thus missing his chance to play in the Futures Game. Upon returning to Tampa's lineup he continued to rake. By seasons end he earned a promotion to the Trenton Thunder (NYY AA affiliate) to help in their playoff push. Fast forward to the 2013 season Tyler found himself in big league camp among the likes of Curtis Granderson, Brett Gardner & Ichiro in the outfield. Headed back to Trenton to start his 2013 campaign he is once again in the running to make it to the Futures Game. It is our duty as fan for the New York Yankees to get him there.
